About me...

I grew up in Shizuoka City, Japan. It felt like Mt. Fuji was in my backyard and followed me anywhere I went. The mountain is always beautiful, but never the same. It shows different faces throughout the day and the passing of the seasons..

I studied fundamental art and graphic design when I was a student in Japan. I have been influenced by and drawn to Japanese art and its culture. I especially admire the historical watercolors, woodblock prints, and fabric designs. These types of artwork are based on everyday life and natural surroundings, always humble and elegant.

I now study at Art on 30th and the San Diego Watercolor Society. Since returning to art, I've been featured in numerous art shows and have won awards for my work.

Although I am away from Japan, my attraction to Japanese art grows stronger as I get older.

I try to use different kinds of media and materials. The technique of collage is my current focus. Using paper and thread, I am surprised by the new styles, effects and feelings that result. I also enjoy watercolor, acrylic paint, and mixed media art.
